Dance offers something for everyone at this age.  Dance gives a sense of physical co-ordination, good posture and balance and improves confidence. It also exercises the mind in an effort of concentration completely different to that required for school studies.

This class introduces basic ballet for little girls in a fun way. As we all know, little girls love to dream of becoming a ballerina, a pink ballet leotard, skirt and dainty shoes all help to make the dream come true!

We do little ballet runs around the room holding our skirts out wide, little turns with our arms up high, we point and flex our toes and skip and dance until our hearts content.

Movement to music, mime, suppleness exercises, modern dancing and singing are incorporated into the lesson to provide plenty of variety and keep the classes fun.

Baby Classes, Baby Development Classes

Tuesdays: 9.30-10.30;  11-12;  12.30-13.30;  14.00-15.00

Age group: 0-13 months

Our Baby Sensory programme has been designed specifically for babies from birth. The Baby Development activities stimulate the senses and help your baby develop.  We are confident that these parent and baby activities will delight and surprise you and your baby.  We use a combination of original and traditional songs and rhymes to develop early communication skills. You will always remember the moment your baby first uses the signs of our Say Hello song which is played at the beginning of each Baby Sensory class.

About the Programme

The various baby activities aim to build up a vocabulary of sensory experiences (e.g. visual, auditory and tactile), to enhance physical contact (massage, reflexology, touching, cuddling and rocking) between you and your baby and to promote the development of speech through the use of sign language, music, song and puppets.

Activities vary weekly.  All activities are excellent for developing physical, social and emotional, and language skills, co-ordination, awareness of the world, a love of music and the concentration so needed for further development.

Recent research illustrates that the most important time for development is the first year of life.

  • Language development – many parents experience intense frustration in understanding their baby’s signals.  Sign Language is one way of taking the guesswork out of parenting.
  • Physical development – although babies should always sleep on their backs, tummy time is an essential aspect of development from birth.  Babies need to be on their tummies in order to go through the fundamental movement patterns that stimulate both sides of the brain.
  • Social development – happy social play sets the tone for the acquisition of future skills such as cooperation, turn taking and sharing.
  • Emotional Development – massage is one sensory delight that really strengthens the bond because it provides an opportunity for parents to express their love.

What happens at a Baby Sensory Class

Baby Sensory introduces you and your baby to a world of rich and varied sensory experiences in a creative and enjoyable environment to encourage learning and development.

Baby Sensory classes always start with our Say Hello song during which you will use simple sign language to communicate with baby.  Parents enjoy learning new signs and babies just love expressive movement! This is followed by sensory activities which you can enjoy with your baby.  These shared moments with baby are precious to you both and will give you a wealth of ideas to try at home with your baby. The class always has an exploratory play session where babies can explore the baby activity area which has a range of equipment specifically selected to stimulate your baby’s senses and help with their development.
This session also allows you to meet others with young babies and form friendships with other parents, these friendships are often an important part of adapting to parenthood.  Healthcare professionals often refer new parents to their local Baby Sensory class where they support each other during the early stages of parenthood. Each Baby class ends with further sensory experiences for baby. The pictures below show some of the experiences you and baby can look forward to enjoying together when you visit a Baby Sensory class.

These activities are designed to delight parent and baby who generally can’t wait to come back for their next Baby Sensory class.

About Caterpillar Music

Our weekly classes for babies and young children offer a unique introduction to music with exciting themes, colourful instruments and amazing puppets. We have provided a fun and a creative learning experience enjoyed by thousands of families every week since 2001.

What are the benefits of music sessions?

  • Experts agree that music enhances learning and helps babies and parents communicate
  • Interaction with other children develops social skills, confidence and helps children make new friends
  • Nursery rhymes and songs help develop vocabulary
  • Playing percussion instruments fosters dexterity and provides an early introduction to music for young babies and children
  • In each weekly class, parents or carers actively join in – and for good reason. It has been shown that children benefit greatly from activities in which their parents or carers interact with them.
  • The Caterpillar class is a fun class with mixed age groups for young babies and toddlers to enjoy together.
  • Babies love music
  • Babies are never too young to enjoy Caterpillar Music and they enjoy watching other babies and older children- it encourages them to crawl, stand up and eventually start taking a few steps in order to follow the fun with the older children
  • Babies love music and are captivated by the puppets and fun activities at every session – they soon recognise favourite songs, rhymes and music.
  • Which part of the class do our toddlers most enjoy? It’s hard to choose, but the action songs are certainly a favourite. With jumping songs and animal sounds, parents comment on how the children love to sing and do all the actions at home too.

Ages: 0 to 36 months

Ages: 18 months to 4 years – Classes for Toddlers

  • Children enjoy searching for something “red” to wear or looking through their books for a picture of a sea animal, or bringing in a favourite teddy bear to show everyone. During the class, by watching and following each other, social skills and confidence grow every week. Toddlers at the Butterfly class join in with lots of actions and music and movement.
  • The classes are very relaxed and children can choose to join in as much as they want to learning and developing at their own pace- some may enjoy watching others before they are ready to join in.
  • Every class is different, according to the ages of children there – please ask your local class leader for advice when choosing a class for your child if you are unsure whether to choose Butterflies or Caterpillars.

Jabberjacks pre-school activity classes are delivered weekly, during term time, at venues that are local to you. Aimed at under 5’s, they are educationally focused and designed to develop the physical and social skills of your child, encouraging their imagination to flourish through role playing and storytelling.

About the Programme

What happens at a Jabberjacks educational activity class?

Every session starts with our own “Hello Song” and ends with our “Goodbye Song” which the children learn through visiting the class weekly.

All of the activities are hidden in the Jabberjacks treasure box and this is opened throughout the session by singing the ‘Jabberjacks song’ along with actions. The content of the box is different every week keeping the little one’s enchanted and excited about each new activity.

The sessions themselves follow a regular pattern with structured routines to create familiarity through repetition, although the actual puppets and props used vary weekly to maintain the child’s attention. Sessions are bright and colourful and include appropriated time for concentration, interaction and physical play.

How can Jabberjacks educational activity classes benefit my child?

Whilst your child has fun enjoying the puppets, parachute, teddies, musical instruments and so much more, without realising it they also:-

  • Grow in confidence and develop their concentration and listening skills as they communicate with our colourful characters
  • Develop positive social interaction with both children and adults
  • Increase their knowledge of the world they live in
  • Engage their senses and gross motor skills using props and puppets
  • Learn about caring and sharing with our unique “sharing time” activity

This is all achieved through Jabberjacks tactile and interactive activities as well as a host of unique and sensory props and accessories.

Jabberjacks also provide birthday party entertainment for children aged between 2 and 7 years old and are designed to give them and their friends a party to remember.

Football coaching 3-5 ys

Wilmslow Leisure Centre:  3yrs-5yrs  Saturday 9.00am – 9.40am

Our Tots FC  has been designed to introduce children to the exciting world of football through structured yet FUN SESSIONS!

Football coaching for this age group should be inclusive and fun….this is what we do best! If you’re based in the North West and in reach of Manchester, Stockport and Cheshire as a whole, our toddler football training is pitched perfectly to offer the right combination of fun, mixed with expert tuition from our fully trained and registered coaches

Our sessions comprise of fun, games, fun warm ups and they finish with small sided football matches. The aim at the first stages of each of these childrens soccer sessions is to give each youngster a ball. This is an important step because it makes the toddler feel fully involved and with those early games and warm ups, it’s vital to include everyone and make sure that nobody is left out.

But it’s not just football skills that can be taught here and at this stage of a child’s development, the sport itself can assist with a number of key areas of a child’s life. Our coaching will therefore help to improve balance, communication, co-ordination and some vital social skills too as the children work their way through the sessions. So if you’re looking for the right football tuition for your toddler which will see them learn a wide range of overall skills and importantly perfect balance of fun along with competition

Courses are paid for half termly in advance with a one off membership fee of £15.00 which covers insurance, player membership and a full kit and bag. This fee is payable on the first course booked.

What are people saying?

A wonderful approach to group classes for preschoolers. My kids (3 and 5) were so engrossed in playing I don’t think they spoke to me the whole session and it was quite an effort to get them to leave at the end – they enjoyed it so much! Claire who runs the sessions is very friendly and approachable and the kids warmed to her immediately. It’s clear that her education background and thorough knowledge of child led play has enabled her to put together captivating classes where kids are having so much fun they don’t even know they are learning.Highly recommended! – Cathy

Classes currently run monthly on Thursdays 1:30-2:30pm at Wilmslow Parish Hall, Cliff Road, Wilmslow, SK9 4AA.

Sessions also run in Bramhall and Hazel Grove.
